About me
I have extensive experience working over a period of twenty years, specialising in working with individuals who have experienced abuse, trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions and bereavement. Whether seeking support in these areas or others, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore, grow, and thrive.
Sometimes life's challenges can be overwhelming, reaching out and seeking support is your first step in addressing your concerns. We will work together to identifying areas that can deepen your understanding of your lived experience, providing a safe environment to tell that story at a pace that you're comfortable with.
Therapy generally can be challenging, discovering ones barriers, patterns of behaviour, amongst many other possible struggles that aren't serving you well in your daily life or that you've been carrying with you for a long time. As a pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist, I embrace this diversity of human experiences and what each individual brings to the counselling room.
My therapeutic approach is that no one-size-fits-all, instead, I will collaborate with you to explore various therapeutic techniques and modalities informed by your individual preference. I have a passion for working creatively with clients and specialise in using music (amongst others) as part of the therapy sessions if you have a preference or passion yourself. Or hey, you may just want to try something out or feel a pull towards a creative way of working, this is always welcomed.
On a personal note, I have spent the last decade working in academia, overseeing mental health and well-being initiatives. Previous to this, I worked as a conflict resolution facilitator for NGOs in the Middle East and supporting victims of trauma and loss in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Manchester.
I am originally from Ireland (the accent shouldn't be an issue, I've slowed it down after living in England and Scotland for 24 years as back then no one understood me haha) and I'm very passionate about music, growing plants (a recent love and challenge!), breathwork, meditation, books, Etymology and meeting new people. As the quote from Ram Dass goes "we're all just walking each other home".. I've always like that one.
I'll leave it there or i will be typing for days :)
So please do get in touch and as mentioned previously the initial 20 minute session is free, which can take place via phone, in-person or online. This will provide a welcome space for you to voice any questions regarding the counselling process and to connect with myself personally. Finding a good fit with a therapist is incredibly important and our consultation provides that space.
Thank you for reading and lets chat soon.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
