About me
Welcome
My fundamental belief is in the uniqueness of every client. My primary objective is to foster a secure, confidential environment where individuals can freely express themselves, assess their circumstances, and explore their choices. Throughout this process, my clients are valued, empowered, and supported as they move forward.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I customise each session according to the specific needs of the individual. I draw from a wide range of therapeutic models, including Person-Centred, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Trauma-Informed approaches. Additionally, I incorporate creative interventions and Psychoeducation as appropriate, to enrich the counselling experience.
I bring experience in assisting individuals who have confronted alcohol and substance issues, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma and grief.
Moreover, I possess a special interest in addressing spiritual matters, exploring with you how we ascribe meaning to our lives and the influence of our beliefs on the challenges we encounter.
Furthermore, I am here to assist individuals who may feel that life has not unfolded in the way they initially envisioned.
Individual Therapy
In therapy, individuals vary in their initial clarity about their concerns. Some come in with a clear sense of what they want to discuss, while others recognize that something in their life isn't quite right but struggle to pinpoint the exact issue. Drawing upon my experience as a therapist, I can effectively assist both groups—those with specific topics in mind and those seeking guidance on where to begin.
I offer the flexibility of short-term or long-term therapy, conducted either in person in my counselling room or through online sessions. Each session is designed to last 50 minutes, and we will collaboratively determine the frequency that best suits your needs. Typically, sessions are scheduled weekly at the outset of our therapeutic journey.
Choice
Commencing therapy is a significant decision, often accompanied by confusion regarding the various therapeutic approaches available and which one aligns best with your needs.
Research has consistently demonstrated that, while the specific therapeutic approach holds importance, the most critical factor influencing the effectiveness of therapy is the quality of the relationship between the client and the therapist.
To help you make an informed decision, I'm pleased to offer a complimentary phone consultation. This allows you to inquire about me and my therapeutic approach, helping you determine whether I am the right therapist for you and how I may be able to help you.
