About me

Hello, my name is Leanne and I am a fully qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, EMDR practitioner and a registered Occupational Therapist. I have worked with adults in both NHS and private sectors for 20 years in GP surgeries, outpatient settings and inpatient wards. I have significant experience in working with people who have experienced stressful and/or traumatic events either in childhood or as an adult, helping to reduce distress from these events and stop them from impacting on both the present and on the future.

Some people who come for therapy have a clear idea of what they need to focus on, others simply feel stuck and unsure what to change - I can help wherever you are at, to make sense of what is happening for you. The therapy I offer is based on the best available evidence, and I am keen to make sure everyone receives the best course of therapy for them.

I will work collaboratively with you to identify, in a non-judgmental way, what is happening, what keeps symptoms going and what your goals are for therapy. We can then look at which type of therapy is likely to be most beneficial and create a therapy plan to target key symptoms, allowing recovery from previous events and distressing symptoms.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, EMDR practitioner and a registered Occupational Therapist. I have worked with adults in both NHS and private sectors for 20 years, including in GP surgeries, outpatient settings and both acute and forensic inpatient wards. I have a MSc in healthcare research and have worked on various clinical trials for both young people and adults.
