About me
Hello, i'm Leah, I work as a qualified and BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Supervisor with over 14 years of experience in the mental health industry. I am also a qualified Yoga Teacher.
I specialise in therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and difficulties where traumatic experiences have contributed to anxiety and depression such as such as social anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, health anxiety, emetophobia (vomit phobia), specific phobias, agoraphobia, generalised anxiety disorder.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is my main modality of therapy which can be complemented by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Polyvagal Theory. I am passionate about the integrative approach with the body and mind. If bringing yoga practices such as breath work or movement is helpful and invited, this can bring a further holistic approach to your therapy.
My belief is that CBT therapy and supervision should be delivered intuitively on a person-by-person basis. I pride myself in adapting my approach to meet the diverse and evolving needs of my clients. I have particular experience with engaging young adults and people with neurodivergence; recognising that therapy needs to make sense, be delivered at the right time, and for my clients to feel they have been heard, understood and supported.
I consider my approach to therapy as personalised, creative and attentive. I like to view my creative therapy style as a way to understand the essence of a person, what makes them tick and how I can refine my methods to best suit you and your specific emotional needs. Creative in my way of thinking, I can help you consolidate the skills learned together and transfer them into your day-to-day life.
