About me
Hi, I’m Lauren.
If you’ve been thinking about starting counselling, I want you to know you’re not alone. Reaching out for support can feel daunting it often brings up vulnerability, uncertainty, and a lot of big feelings. It’s completely okay to feel that way.
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly, explore what’s been weighing on you, and begin to make sense of your experiences. Together, we can gently work towards understanding your feelings and creating meaningful, positive change at a pace that feels right for you.
I specialise in supporting people through grief, anxiety and trauma. These are areas I’m deeply experienced in, but they’re not the only reasons someone might seek counselling. You might be navigating a life change, feeling stuck, or simply needing a space to figure things out. Whatever you’re carrying, you’re welcome here.
You won’t have to do any of this on your own. I’ll be alongside you every step of the way.
My approach to counselling is flexible and shaped around your unique needs. I work integratively, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches so that our sessions can support you in the way that feels most helpful and authentic.
I offer online and telephone sessions, giving you the freedom to choose what feels most comfortable. We can work together for an agreed number of sessions or keep things open‑ended whatever suits you best.
Although I’m based in a small village in West Yorkshire, working remotely means I can support clients from anywhere in the UK.
If you’d like to explore whether counselling with me feels like the right fit, you’re warmly invited to get in touch by email or through my website. I offer a free consultation call where we can talk about what you’re hoping for, what you might need, and any questions you’d like to ask.
Training, qualifications & experience
I’m a fully qualified counsellor with a DipHE Level 5 in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 3 Counselling Certificate. I’m a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I work in line with their ethical framework to ensure safe, respectful and professional practice.
I’ve supported people with a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, long‑term or sudden illness, personal and relationship difficulties, low self‑esteem, confidence challenges, overwhelming or confusing emotions, grief, bereavement, and many other life struggles. Whatever you’re facing, you’re welcome to bring it here.
I’m fully insured, ICO registered, and hold a valid enhanced DBS check, so you can feel confident that your sessions are safe, confidential and handled with care.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
