About me

I am a Child and Adolescent Counsellor based at the Burton-on-Trent branch of Tuudae. I understand that seeking support for your child can feel daunting, and my goal is to offer a kind, compassionate, and inclusive space where young people feel truly accepted and encouraged.

I work with children and young people aged 4 to 25, supporting them to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe and nurturing environment. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, or big emotions they can’t yet put into words, I aim to help them feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

I know that every child’s journey is unique, so I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs. Using a blend of person-centred therapy, mindfulness, CBT, play, and art therapy, I work alongside the young person to help them better understand themselves and the world around them. Whether the changes they make feel small or significant, I believe each step is valuable, and I’m here to gently guide and support that process.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over three years of experience working as a school counsellor, supporting children and young people with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties. During this time, I worked with the well-respected organisation Place2Be, where I provided one-to-one support to students, helping them to process their experiences and build resilience.

I also have experience working with neurodivergent clients, and I am currently completing a Diploma in Autism to further enhance my skills in this area.

As part of my commitment to giving back to the community, I also work with the Sycamore Charity, a service funded by Children in Need and the local authority, providing therapeutic support to children and families facing significant challenges.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
