About me

Hello and Welcome to my page,

While we adapt to the new normal it can help to talk about how you are feeling. I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor currently working online  and offering short and long term therapy. This is the next best thing to being face to face and is effective and practical. I'm here to listen with compassion and respect and bring therapy in the comfort of your own home.

Now is a good time to start a new and healing journey without judgement as I work individually according to your needs. No problem is too small to discuss. I work on zoom or telephone, so do feel free to book your first session.

"Laura, words cannot express how grateful I am for your time, wisdom and encouragement this past year. Thank you."

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to turn when you are struggling with difficulties and decisions, and family members can be too close. That's when therapy can help.

That's where I can help

With over ten years’ experience, I support people through life’s difficulties including generalised anxiety, depression, low self esteem and relationship issues.

I believe that being understood and properly heard is important to recovery and shifts how we feel about ourselves. Clients often remark on my positive energy as we explore things and build a trusting  and healing relationship.

Online Therapy

This is working well and you can book times to suit you when you can make time for yourself. It is more flexible with appointments but the time frame of  sessions are the same as face to face.

How to start

Very easy, just call me on 07778 005951 or email me.    We can discuss  timings and any questions you may have about counselling and then book an appointment. Sessions last 50 minutes, the same as a face to face session. On the initial consultation we discuss what you would like to explore and what brings you to therapy,  see how you feel talking with me and then going forward,  plan to meet weekly.

I look forward to welcoming you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed a MA/PGdip at Regents University, preceded by a  Foundation course in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents University.

I am a Registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP).

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

During these uncertain times, it's important to keep checking in to see how you are coping and see if there are ways in which you can improve your day to day well being.

It's important to connect with people and allow yourself to feel less isolated in these challenging times.

I am here to help online with psychotherapy and counselling to talk problems through as they emerge and we alter our life according to the changing environment.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
