About me
I am a counsellor working exclusively with 11-18 year olds in Edinburgh. I am fully qualified and registered with BACP and have worked for over 15 years in Primary, Secondary Schools and charity settings across England and Scotland as a counsellor. I am so passionate about supporting young people to find their voice and to feel better in themselves. It is important to me to allow for counselling to be accessible for young people on a lower budget and I offer sessions at a lower cost with further concessionary rates available for those on a budget.
Perhaps you are feeling stuck and struggling for whatever reason. This can be such a lonely place to be. I can provide a safe, warm and confidential space for you to be really heard, and to be able to express what is going on for you. Nothing is too big or small to bring.
I have a background in psychodynamic counselling but work as an Integrative counsellor. This means I work to enable you to find a way to explore your difficulties, gain some understanding of your feelings and feel more able to cope with your challenges. Sometimes we may use art, sand play, or you may feel like talking – this will be guided by you and your unique story. I will help you to make changes which feel right for you, it’s not about giving advice or telling you what to do. As a qualified yoga teacher, I am also able to help you with relaxation techniques, movement and meditation if this is something you would like. I have a particular interest in mind-body work.
I work particularly with young people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, have experienced a loss or bereavement, divorce or separation or have experienced trauma. I work with those who are struggling with exam stress, have difficulties with relationships or who are lacking in confidence and self-esteem.
If you would like to get in touch, I will arrange an introductory session with a parent/carer, then we can meet, you can get to see the space and we can decide if it works for you to go ahead.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
