About me
When you find yourself at a place where you need to talk about what's going on for you it can be daunting to make contact with a counsellor - I understand and warmly welcome you to my profile. You may feel like no one around you understands you or knows how to help you, you might feel like you want to share difficult things from your past or you may want to make sense of an experience or you might want to make changes in your life. Maybe you just don't know what's happening for you right now. Whatever you're experiencing I offer a space that is safe, non-judgmental and welcoming.
I am an Integrative Counsellor drawing from Person-centred and Psychodynamic models as well as creative techniques. I work with you to find a way of counselling that works best for you, your personality, needs, wants, life experiences and where you are at in life right now.
I work with young people 12-18 (face to face) and adults (face to face and online) with an option of Walk and Talk therapy in the meadows.
I will work with many issue and have particular professional interest in parenting issues, relationship issues, IVF and fertility, sexuality/gender indentity, issues of/around twins, partners/family of those with addictions, loss and self esteem/self-worth.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a level 3 in Counselling Skills, Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and a Connected Kids Foundation qualification.
I have worked in a school counselling young people and for charities and organisations counselling adults.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
