About me

Hello, I’m Laura - an integrative counsellor (MBACP) based in Ravensden, near Bedford.

Do you feel like you’ve lost yourself in a relationship, or find yourself constantly overthinking, people-pleasing, or doubting your worth?
Perhaps you’ve experienced an emotionally abusive or controlling relationship - and although things may look “fine” on the outside, inside feels very different.

I specialise in working with adults recovering from emotionally abusive or controlling relationships, including narcissistic and domestic abuse dynamics. Many of my clients come to me feeling confused, stuck, or disconnected from who they used to be - often questioning themselves and struggling to trust their own thoughts and feelings.

My background in social care, homelessness and abuse services means I bring a grounded, real-world understanding to the work. Alongside this, my own lived experience allows me to meet you with empathy, honesty, and without judgement.

Therapy with me isn’t about rushing to “fix” things or telling you what to do. It’s about gently making sense of what you’ve been through, understanding the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and helping you reconnect with your sense of self.

Together, we can begin to:

build self-worth and confidence
reduce overthinking and self-doubt
understand and shift people-pleasing patterns
explore boundaries and rebuild trust (in yourself and others)
I offer sessions from my private garden office, as well as online or by telephone.

Current availability: Daytime and limited evening appointments
Free 20-minute introductory call available
I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.

If you’re thinking about reaching out, you’re very welcome to get in touch. We can start with a short call to see if this feels like the right fit for you.

You don’t need to have everything figured out,  just a sense that something needs to change.

You can also find reviews on Google and more about my work on my Facebook and Instagram pages.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
