About me
I am an accredited cognitive behavioural therapist (CBT) with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and an acceptance and commitment therapist (ACT) and member of the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS).
I have fourteen years’ experience of working in mental health services. I have extensive experience of working with young people and adults with depression and anxiety disorders. This includes low mood, social anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic, health anxiety and long term conditions.
I draw on a range of cognitive and behavioural evidence-based therapies. My integrative approach places the therapeutic relationship at the core of the therapy. I offer help in the following areas:
- working with people who may find it difficult to be with their anxiety, painful thoughts and feelings
- or who may have a critical perception of themselves
- or can finds relationships difficult
- or experience the world and others as unsafe.
My general approach and stance to therapy:
I provide a safe and confidential space and work respectfully with your difficulties. If you are unsure of where to start, or just feel stuck, my approach can help to develop a shared understanding of what shows up for you when things feel tough, and what makes moving forward seem difficult. We can then decide together what may be helpful to focus on in therapy and tailor the approach to fit with you.
What therapy sessions can involve:
- learning more helpful and compassionate ways of relating to yourself, others and the world around you
- focus on teaching you how to open up and make space for unwanted and difficult thoughts, feelings, images, memories and bodily sensations
- help you to identify personal values and goals
- help you to establish new behaviours which are guided by your values

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
