About me

Life can be complicated. We usually find our way through the ups and downs, but there are moments when coping feels harder. It may be something specific where you’d value some extra support or a more impactful issue that is affecting you in a bigger way. This is where counselling can make a difference.

My focus is on creating a secure, non‑judgmental environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. In our sessions, you can bring the thoughts and feelings that feel confusing, heavy, or are difficult to share elsewhere. I hold the belief that you are the expert on your own life; my role is to offer grounded, empathetic, and skilled support to help you unpack with care, whatever it is that has brought you to counselling.

I believe deeply in our human capacity for change and growth both individually and within relationships. I’m passionate about the idea that exploring our differences doesn’t divide us; it’s often what allows genuine understanding to grow. This is an opportunity to bring about meaningful change in your life big or small.

I work with individuals and couples on a whole variety of issues. Sometimes people come to counselling not even sure what is wrong, just that they need professional help to explore the issue. Examples of the areas where I can work with you include:

  • Relationship challenges or breakdown
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Low self esteem
  • Exploration around self identify
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Feelings of overwhelm
  • Overwhelm and emotional overload
  • Loneliness

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Qualified Integrative Counsellor
  • Registered member of the BACP, working within their ethical frameworks
  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Certificate in Couple and Relationship Therapy, The Grove Practice, London

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working across both the private and public sectors. For the past 10 years I have also been working with a mediation charity focused on conflict resolution, helping people find peace in situations of tension or misunderstanding.

This included community training and work in schools, supporting people to develop communication skills that empower them to express themselves clearly and build connection and understanding rather than conflict.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
