About me
Hi, Hello & Welcome!
I am so glad that you have found the time and space to prioritise YOU.
Sleepless nights? Anxiety and low mood? Flashbacks? Traumatic events that you thought you may have made sense of, but are rearing their ugly heads? These are all things that can make living day-to-day so difficult, but I hope to be and want to be the person to help you find that peace you are searching for.
I'm Kirsten, a Person-Centred, Trauma Informed & Neuroaffirming Therapist waiting to work with you in order to help things feel lighter and more manageable.
I have four years of experience working with survivors of domestic abuse, people living with a variety of complex mental health needs, bereavement, my own lived experience of neurodivergence (AuDHD) and the trauma and troubles that coincide and I would love nothing more than to help you find comfort and peace in your day to day life.
Being a Person-Centred counsellor, I truly believe we all have what it takes to find what really makes us thrive, sometimes, we just need a little support to find the right onward journey and to rebuild after major traumatic events.
Having had experience working first-hand with a variety of clients living with trauma, CPTSD and neurodivergence I combine talking therapy alongside resources and information that can help you to find greater understanding of the process behind your emotional responses. All within a warm, non-judgemental and confidential space, paving the way together for your self-compassion and self-love.
Therapy can be tough; however, it is rare that I ever see therapy without light and laughter at some point. It really isn't doom and gloom all of the time! You bring whatever feels right and safe for you. You are the expert of your own life and therapy session.
If you think we might be a good fit, I offer a no-obligation, free twenty-minute telephone call to answer any questions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for being here. Go gently.
Kirsten

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
