About me

You may have an understanding of what brings you here, or you may find it hard to put into words; either way, you are taking a step towards receiving support. I would like to learn more about you and support the process. It is not always easy to share our inner world with those closest to us, we may feel unsure about our reactions or conflicted feelings. As a qualified psychodynamic counsellor, I provide a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space for you to explore and make sense of these struggles and complexities. Making sense of a person’s whole experience, often including their past, is the way to make sense of their present problems and how they may have arisen in the first place. With better understanding, a person can move towards change and break the cycle of repetition.

I like to work collaboratively to empower you throughout our time together to get what you need from the therapy process. Whether you’re feeling anxious or down, facing challenges in your relationships or sense of identity, or simply stuck, I am here to offer support, understanding, and guidance as you move forward.

Beginning therapy can be daunting, and it is important that you feel at ease and that my approach suits you. Feel free to contact me to arrange a brief, no-obligation introductory chat to see if you would like to work with me. This is so we are able to get to know each other a little and think about the possibility of working together. Additionally, if you have any questions regarding myself or the therapy process, feel free to bring those with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am fully qualified with experience working in-person and remotely, where I have supported individuals with an extensive range of topics over the years.

I welcome all identities and gender expressions. I am committed to a practice that is anti-racist and LGBTQIA+ inclusive.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
