About me

I have worked as a Psychotherapist for over thirty years and have gained a wide experience working with both individuals and couples. My work is Psychoanalytical, which means looking at the connections between behaviours and emotions. enabling understanding to see patterns in our lives in order to make changes.

It is vital that during the sessions the client feels safe and in control of the process. The goal of therapy is to feel you have more autonomy in your life and greater wellbeing and happiness.

When making the commitment to start therapy it is important to know you will have a safe place to express feelings and be heard. Understanding emotions in a coherent way is key in making sense of our motivations. Improving confidence and self-esteem means difficult decisions to change our lives can be made.

The number and frequency of the sessions will be discussed at the first session. Fees are agreed with each client, a usual fee is £65 per fifty-minute session.

All the information is held in strict confidence.

Zoom and phone sessions can be good alternative for some clients who are not able to travel for face-to-face sessions

I have worked as a psychotherapist / counsellor for nearly thirty years and have gained a wide experience working with both individuals and couples.

Over the years my psychotherapy / counselling practice has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, couples counselling, eating disorders, addictions, stress and obsessive behaviours. I have had particular experience working with survivors of sexual abuse and their families.

I work Psychoanalytically and with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). My training involved an eclectic approach to Freudian Jungian and Kleinian therapy. In recent years I have studied and worked with Attachment theory in adult life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my postgraduate training in psychoanalysis at The Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP) in London, after I had trained in education at Borough Road College University of London.

I am registered with the Untied Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a member of the Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis (CPJA).

In recent years I have studied Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) at the Institute for Education in London and Attachment theory in adult life, training with Dr. Una McCluskey at the University of York and with Dr. Dorothy Heard.
