About me

Hi, my name is Kerry, I have been working in the counselling field for eleven and a half years. I offer counselling to children /young people, adults and couples. I also offer life coaching and I am a qualified personal trainer. I see clients who need support with their Personal Training physically and believe in Total Wellbeing so consider their mental wellbeing as well.

I understand that you will be looking for the right person to meet your needs and may be feeling slightly nervous or apprehensive. I aim to treat you with the respect I would expect if I was in your position. You will find me to be very understanding and non-judgemental however I do believe in talking straight so that people know exactly where they stand.

Although I work in all areas of counselling I specialise in Domestic Violence with adult females and males. My work with young people has involved low self esteem, lacking in self confidence and all forms of abuse/bullying.

My Practice

My counselling room is located in Basford, Stoke on Trent, I have aimed to provide you with a confidential comfortable space to explore and feel safe in. I also work for charitable organisations.

Booking an Initial Assessment

I offer a free session up to 30 minutes, for us to meet to see if we both feel we can work together. This gives you a chance to briefly explain what has made you come to counselling and a chance for me to speak to you about the different approaches available to you.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Certificate in counselling level 3
  • Diploma in counselling level 4
  • Drugs awareness level 2
  • Although I work in all areas of counselling I specialise in Domestic Violence with adult females,  males and also children/ young people who have also been affected by DV. My work with young people has involved low self esteem, lacking in self confidence and all forms of abuse/bullying.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
