About me
Hi I'm Keri, a Counsellor based in Henley-on-Thames. I work both in person on Hart Street and Online. I work daily with clients with a whole range of Anxieties, Low-Self-Esteem, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) , Mobile Phone Addiction. My son has ADHD which has also inspired me to train to work with clients with ADHD.
My style is naturally warm, grounded, trauma‑aware and refreshingly human-no jargon, no judgement, no stiff therapist voice. Just real conversations, practical tools and goal setting that help you learn about yourself, your patterns and enables you to change or move on from the past.
Often my clients say they feel a better or new version of themselves after working with me, they're more resilient, more confident and are now the boss of their anxiety! One of my clients said that she found the sessions invaluable not only because of the tools we used but my manner and down to earth understanding of current life. They also feel
- Safe
- Understood
- Able to talk about things they’ve never said out loud
- Calmer and clearer after sessions
- More grounded and more themselves
- Sessions are spacious, steady, and focused on what matters most to you.
- There’s room for depth, humour, honesty, and the kind of conversations that help you breathe again.
As a pluralistic counsellor, we are not forced into one model or one way of working. We collaborate and shape the sessions around what genuinely helps you. And when deeper emotional imprints or long‑standing patterns are involved, I integrate IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Technique)-a gentle, effective way of processing the emotional “charge” behind certain feelings, memories, or identity patterns.
I trained Pluralistically as research shows that by using different types of therapy at different stages is the most effective. We draw on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Person-Centred, Psychodynamic techniques, as well as IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Technique), EMDR and Hypnotherapy.
This might include:
- Talking therapy, CBT, Identity and self‑belief work
- Trauma‑informed approaches
- Practical tools for anxiety and overwhelm
- IEMT/EMDR for shifting emotional imprints and stuck patterns
- Pluralistic counselling is flexible, collaborative, and tailored-ideal if you want therapy that adapts to you rather than the other way around.
What is IEMT?
IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Technique) is a gentle, structured approach that helps reduce the emotional intensity around certain memories, feelings, or identity patterns. Brilliant for PTSD
Clients often describe it as:
“Feeling lighter”
“The emotional charge disappearing” “Finally being able to move on from something that’s been stuck for years”
It’s not hypnosis, and you stay fully present and in control throughout.
It can be especially helpful for anxiety, trauma, overwhelm, and long‑standing emotional patterns.
