About me

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or exhausted, trying cope with everything alone? Many people come to me when life feels heavy, relationships feel complicated, or they’ve lost confidence in life and just feel stuck. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to manage it all by yourself.

I’m Kelly, a warm hearted, compassionate and down‑to‑earth counsellor/psychotherapist with over 20 years’ experience supporting adults, children, and young people. I offer a calm, steady, non‑judgemental space where you can talk openly, make sense of what’s going on, and begin to feel more grounded and in control.

My approach is person‑centred at its core, and I draw on CBT‑informed and solution‑focused ideas when they’re helpful. Together, we’ll explore things at your pace — whether you’re dealing with anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, self‑esteem difficulties, or recurring patterns in relationships that feel hard to break.

I am BACP accredited and a trauma informed practitioner. I have extensive experience supporting neurodiverse clients, people in crisis, self-harm and suicide ideation, adults, young people and individuals who have lived through difficult or overwhelming experiences. Alongside my private practice, I’m a Senior Counsellor with Place2Be, where I lead a busy school counselling service and provide clinical supervision to trainee and qualified therapists. I work with both primary and secondary aged children and young people.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you’re not expected to have everything figured out. If you’d like to explore whether counselling feels right for you, I’d be glad to support you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
