About me
How I can help:
Life doesn't always unfold in the way we expected. Sometimes a significant change, loss, relationship difficulty, or period of uncertainty can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and unsure of our next steps. At other times, we may have struggled with self-doubt for so long that we begin to lose confidence in our own voice and abilities.
You may be used to coping on your own, putting others first, or telling yourself that you should be able to manage. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but you don't have to face things alone.
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, accepting space where you can talk openly about what's happening in your life. I believe that when we feel truly heard and understood, we are better able to reconnect with ourselves, gain clarity, and find a way forward.
I believe that each person has the capacity for growth and change, and that therapy can provide the space to reconnect with your own strengths, values, and sense of self.
Through counselling, you may develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, begin to recognise patterns that are no longer serving you, and feel more able to express your needs and boundaries. Together, we can explore what matters most to you, strengthen your sense of self, and find healthier ways of managing stress, anxiety, and difficult emotions. Over time, this can support you in making meaningful changes that feel authentic and lasting.
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, particularly if you've never had therapy before. My aim is to offer a warm and welcoming space where you feel safe to explore whatever is troubling you, without pressure or judgement.
Before starting counselling:
I offer a free 20-minute introductory conversation before we begin working together. This is an opportunity for us to talk about what is bringing you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it, as well as giving you the chance to ask any questions about me or my approach.
There is no charge and no expectation that you will go on to book a session. Choosing a counsellor is an important decision, and this conversation gives us both the opportunity to see whether working together feels right for you.
What to expect from the first session:
There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what to say, and it's completely okay if you're finding it difficult to put your feelings into words. Many people come to counselling simply knowing that something doesn't feel right, or that they would like things to be different.
The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another. We'll talk about what has brought you to counselling, what is happening in your life at the moment, and what you hope counselling might offer you. If you have had counselling before, we may also explore what that experience was like for you and what has brought you back to therapy at this point in your life.
If you've never had counselling before, it's natural to feel a little nervous or unsure about what to expect. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no pressure to share everything in the first session, and you are free to talk about whatever feels most important.
Building trust takes time, and I don't expect you to tell your whole story straight away. Together, we will begin to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences when you feel ready.
My role is to listen, support you, and provide a space where you feel heard and understood.
The first session is also an opportunity for you to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. Feeling comfortable with your counsellor is important, and I encourage you to take time to consider whether working together feels right for you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
