About me
Hi,
I am Kellie.
As a therapist my aim is to provide a confidential, secure space where we can work together to help you understand and cope with your mental health. Offering therapy that caters to the needs of the individual, in a way which is as unique as you are. Therapy is not a 'one size fits all'
I'm a Humanistic therapist. This means that I work with you, your story and how you experience the world. Working integratively allows the flexibility to work in diverse ways to help you get what you want from coming to therapy. Examples of this could be using Art, sand tray and miniatures or a timeline of your life. I believe that you are an expert on how you experience the world and make room for all aspects of this.
I've professional and personal experience with Neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia) and aim to provide a Neuro-inclusive environment. My studio has different lighting options, seating places, textures, calming colour pallets, sensory fidgets and various artwork.
Often clients come experiencing feelings of sadness, with a sense of loneliness, low self esteem or family concerns . Whether it's issues of low mood, anxiety, depression, grief / bereavement or trauma we can work together. I work with individuals from 18+, from all backgrounds, welcoming discussion on all subjects.
My Studio
My Studio has been designed to be a warm, comfortable, relaxing and safe space. Some adjustments can be made within the space if they are needed.
There are images of my studio on my website and if preferred a visit in advance can be arranged. Based on the first floor of the Beacon in Newcastle upon Tyne, there is a welcoming reception foyer, two elevators / lifts and stairs.
What is the difference between counselling and Psychotherapy?
- Counselling is typically a short term, talking therapy that aims to help find solutions to a current issue or problem, such as a recent loss or symptoms of anxiety.
- Psychotherapy is typically a longer-term process which is more in depth, working through past experiences and aiming to understand how these may link to how you live your life. This understanding allows for awareness and choice which can lead to personal growth and changes to your feelings and behaviour.
Further details can be found on my website, Facebook and Instagram pages.
Training, qualifications & experience
I work as an adult psychotherapist and adult psychotherapeutic counsellor.
I have completed a total of seven years of study and training, plus five years of voluntary client work in charities and NHS settings.
I have a UKCP and BACP Accredited Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a UKCP Accredited Diploma in Psychotherapy.
I am UKCP accredited and can be found on their directory.
Continual professional development, learning and updating my knowledge is a passion.
My business is currently in a studio located in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
