About me
🌿 Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
I'm Kellie,
I've been told by clients that I am warm, compassionate and very human in my approach.
I work in a neuro-affirming way, and many of my clients are exploring ADHD or autism traits.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, low, anxious, burnt out, or trying to make sense of ADHD or autistic traits, you’re not alone.
Many people come to me at moments when life feels heavy, confusing, or too much and reaching out can feel like a big step. It’s okay if you’re unsure where to begin.
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk at your own pace, without pressure or judgement. You don’t need to have the right words we can find them together.
As a Humanistic, neuro-affirming therapist, I work alongside you, not above you. Your experiences, your perspective, and the way you make sense of the world are at the heart of our work.
Therapy with me is always tailored to you, whether you prefer talking, gentle structure, or creative tools that help express things that feel tangled or wordless.
My aim is simple: for you to feel understood, supported, and less alone as we explore what’s been happening in your life.
You’re welcome to reach out whenever you feel ready...
The Studio
My studio has been designed to be warm, comfortable, and calming, with options to suit different needs. You’ll find varied lighting, seating choices, textures, sensory fidgets, and artwork. There’s a “random wall” of pictures, an organised wall, and a blank wall, so if eye contact feels difficult, there are plenty of things to rest your gaze on.
Visiting
My studio is on the first floor of The Beacon in Newcastle upon Tyne, with a welcoming reception area, lifts, and stairs.
You’ll find images of the space on my website, along with a virtual video tour.
If you’d prefer, we can also arrange a visit in advance so you feel comfortable before starting.
Counselling vs. Psychotherapy
Counselling is usually short-term and focuses on finding solutions to current issues, such as a recent loss or symptoms of anxiety.
Psychotherapy is often longer-term and more in-depth, exploring past experiences and how they shape your present. This deeper understanding can open the door to personal growth, new choices, and changes in how you feel and live.
Further details can be found on my website, Facebook and Instagram pages.
Training, qualifications & experience
I work as an Adult Psychotherapist and Adult Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.
I have completed a total of seven years of study and training, plus five years of voluntary client work with charities (including Grace House and The Toby Henderson Trust) as well as NHS settings across the North East.
I have been in Private practice since June 2024.
I have a UKCP and BACP Accredited Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a UKCP Accredited Diploma in Psychotherapy.
I am UKCP accredited and can be found on their directory.
Continual professional development, learning and updating my knowledge is a passion.
I have personal and professional experience of Neurodiversity (ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia) and a passion for providing a Neuro Affirmative space.
I am also passionate about supporting non-pathologising ways of understanding and responding to emotional distress and the impact that trauma can have on both the mind and body.
My studio is located on the outskirts of of Newcastle upon Tyne City Centre.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone call, this gives you the opportunity to tell me a little about you and why are are looking for Therapy. You can also find out about me, how I work and ask any questions. It also gives a brief idea if I feel like the right therapist to work with.
From this, our first session will be arranged for an in-person 50 minute assessment. This is charged at the standard session rate.
In the Assessment we will build a picture of you, your life and what has brought you to therapy now. We will look at what your aim for coming to therapy is, and what you expect to gain or lose.
It also allows you to decide if you feel comfortable in a room with me.
