About me

If you have landed here, Hi.

My name is Kayleigh and I am a humanistic counsellor. You are Welcome Here

I work with all humans

I like to think of our brains as lofts (or attics). Some are neat and everything is filed away alphabetically, colour-coded, in perfect order. (People that know exactly where the Christmas decorations are.)

And then there are attics that are full of life’s leftovers, old toys we no longer play with, letters from people we no longer speak to, and photographs waiting to be sorted.

Counselling is where we open the hatch, dust off the boxes, and start organising, even if it’s just clearing one small cobweb at a time. Bit by bit, we make space for the things you want to keep, and gently let go of what no longer serves you.

I also have ADHD, which means I know first-hand what it’s like to navigate a world that isn’t always designed for our brains. It brings empathy, flexibility, and creativity to my work, and it helps me connect with clients who may also experience the world a little differently.

Ready to Begin?

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to have everything figured out before we talk.

We can have a little phone call to see if we are a good fit. No pressure, no judgement.

I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone who needs it. If you’re struggling financially, please let me know. I keep a small number of reduced-fee spaces so cost isn’t the thing that stands between you and the support you deserve.

Get in touch, whether you’re ready to dive in, or just want to ask a few questions first.

Training, qualifications & experience

After going through my own challenges, I discovered how transformative it can be to have someone truly listen without judgment. That experience shaped the way I work today: human first, counsellor second.

I’m now a qualified Humanistic Counsellor, which is just a fancy way of saying I don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” therapy. I draw on Person-Centred warmth, Gestalt creativity, and Transactional Analysis insight, adapting our sessions to what feels right for you.

My work has taken me into many different spaces, from one-to-one therapy rooms to online sessions, supporting adults, teens, and those navigating trauma, identity, anxiety, relationships, and self-esteem struggles. A big part of my journey has been working with survivors of sexual trauma, helping them rebuild a sense of safety, trust, and self-worth.

Right now, I’m proud to be the CYP Lead at Survivor Space Oxford, where I work with young people and help shape services that truly meet their needs. I also have specialist training in working with children and young people, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding.

I keep learning because the world keeps changing, and my clients deserve therapy that grows with them.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
