About me

Are you finding life challenging or hard to navigate? You don’t have to face it alone. I provide a safe, culturally sensitive, non-judgmental space where you can be truly heard and understood. As a Muslim counsellor, I bring a unique perspective and deep respect for diverse experiences. We’ll work through your challenges and develop healthier ways to cope and manage, building your confidence and resilience to help you move toward an empowered and fulfilling life.

Drawing on evidence-based approaches such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), alongside traditional counselling and coaching techniques, I offer a holistic approach to support your well-being. As a Bangladeshi counsellor, I understand the challenges of cultural dynamics and navigating life as a Muslim in the 21st century. You’ll be met with safety, respect, and compassionate support as we work together toward healing, values-led change, and meaningful growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

With a background supporting survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence, I bring a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to counselling. Alongside my private practice, I work for Victim Support, assisting individuals dealing with various types of trauma and hardship.

My professional credentials include a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, with a specialism in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), complemented by additional training such as Islamically integrated psychology and coaching. My work is grounded in professional standards and culturally sensitive practice, reflecting a strong commitment to providing therapy that is both effective and inclusive.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Coming from a culturally rich but often complex background, I understand first-hand how faith, family expectations, and identity can shape our inner world. My path into counselling was shaped not only by professional training and client work, but also by personal experiences that led me to re-evaluate life, identity, and well-being on a deeper level. These experiences have given me insight into the complexities of emotional struggle, family and cultural pressures, and the resilience it takes to heal and move forward.
