About me

Choosing to come to counselling can be a big decision. You might know exactly why you’re here, or you might simply have a sense that things feel difficult or that something has changed. Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to begin.

I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor, and I see each person as an individual. We all bring our own experiences and ways of making sense of the world, and what we need from counselling can vary over time. You may come knowing exactly what you want to explore, or you may simply know that you’re finding things difficult. Sometimes it’s about finding the words; sometimes it’s about having the time and space to explore what’s there and understand the impact it may be having.

My own experience of counselling has shaped the way I work. Being a client myself has given me an understanding of how personal the process can be, and how much time and trust it can sometimes take to put difficult things into words. That experience continues to influence the way I work with people.

I work with adults navigating a range of experiences, including trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, burnout, loneliness, neurodivergence, learning disabilities and periods of change or transition.

Alongside my counselling work, I have experience supporting individuals and families through a wide range of circumstances, including isolation, loneliness and difficulties with connection and confidence. I have also worked with adults with learning disabilities, both individually and in groups.

If you’re considering counselling, I offer a free introductory call of up to 30 minutes. Finding the right counsellor is a personal decision, and the relationship between you and your counsellor is an important part of the process. The call gives us a chance to talk about what brings you to counselling, ask any questions you might have, and for you to decide whether you feel I might be the right person for you.

I offer in-person counselling in Falmouth, as well as online and telephone sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
