About me

I am a licensed & fully insured Accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work mainly online nationally with some limited face to face sessions at GL6.

Sometimes it can feel hard to ask for help when life feels challenging and it can be difficult to know what to do next or who to talk to. I will provide a professional, warm and safe environment in which we can work together to figure a way forward. I have experience helping people with "life" issues such as depression/anxiety, PND, relationship issues, burnout, work issues, fertility issues, menopause and loss/ bereavement. I also have experience with Neurodiversity, Autism, ADHD & BPD/EUPD coaching.
I will focus on building a trusting connection with you where we can create an honest, collaborative and secure relationship to explore problems together with empathy, warmth, curiosity and respect. My approach is Person-centred but I can offer DBT skills & EFT (Tapping), if needed. I specialise in Autism/ADHD, and have extensive experience of BPD/EUPD.

We can explore together what you are looking for from sessions and how we might develop a pace and plan to suit you. I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to potential clients, with no obligation, so if you would like to do this please get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

MBACP - Accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Registered Member 387000

I have worked in Private Practice for 5 years + since qualifying with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Before then, I have worked in various therapeutic settings. I work mainly online but have limited face to face appointments in Painswick GL6. I am a Person-centred therapist but can draw on other modalities (such as Solution-focused therapy or DBT skills) dependent on what is agreed with you and what you feel would be most helpful. I have experience working with common mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, life transitions - such as loss and menopause - as well as a special interest in working with people on the spectrum (ASD) and ADHD. I am a DBT Skills practitioner and have worked as a therapeutic coach practitioner for people with BPD/EUPD.

I see clients short-term and long-term, please feel free to book a free 20 minute telephone consultation at www.gloucestercounselling.co.uk

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
