About me

  • Feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to turn?
  • Surrounded by people who don’t understand you?
  • Feeling like you’re just getting by, rather than living the life you would like?

If this resonates with you, please know that you're not alone and it's understandable to feel lost or helpless when things happen to you or to those you care about.

Counselling can help us cope with the difficulties we face in life. Hello, my name is Kathryn and, over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping many people navigate challenges, including bereavement, loss, terminal illness, major life changes, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties. Whatever you’re facing, I’m here to support you with compassion and understanding.

Reaching out for Counselling Support. From my own experience,  I know how scary it can be to reach out for support. Starting counselling with me can be the beginning of your journey towards feeling more comfortable and helping you to navigate your emotions in a way that works for you.

What you can expect from me:

  • My approach is gentle, caring, and down‑to‑earth.
  • Whatever you’re going through, whether you’re feeling sad, anxious, grieving or simply not quite yourself, you don’t have to face this alone. I’m here to walk alongside you, at your pace, no matter how overwhelming and frightening this may seem.
  • During our sessions, you’ll find a safe, non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, knowing that what you share will be held with compassion and understanding.

We’ll work together in a gentle and supportive way, focusing on what matters most to you as you gain new insights and move towards healing and growth at a pace that feels right for you

How I work

  • I’m a fully accredited, integrative counsellor, which means I can tailor our sessions using different therapeutic approaches so we can find what works best for you.
  • At the heart of my work is the person‑centred approach which means I believe everyone can flourish if they have the right care and a supportive environment.
  • If words feel tricky, no problem. We can use creative tools, like buttons, shells or drawings, offering you different ways to express yourself and be truly heard.

Therapy with me is:

  •  Open-ended, allowing you to move at your own pace and focus on what matters most to you.
  • Face-to-face in a comfortable, accessible space with on-drive parking and convenient public transport links.
  • Online or telephone are also available, so you can choose what suits your life best.

Taking the Next Steps…

1.     Get in touch for a free 30‑minute phone call. This is a relaxed, no‑pressure chat to see how you feel talking with me. We’ll start to get to know each other, talk about what’s bringing you to counselling and discuss what therapy might look like for you. You can ask me any questions you might have and get a feel of whether you’d feel comfortable working with me.

2.     Book an initial session at a reduced fee. This creates a strong starting point for your therapy by deepening our understanding of what brings you to counselling and how we can work together in a way that feels right for you.

3.     Begin counselling at your own pace. From there, we can start ongoing sessions, focusing on what matters to you and what feels most helpful.

Let’s start your journey together, at your pace and in your own way.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
