About me
My work as a qualified counsellor involves supporting adults, children and young people, providing a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever may be happening in your life.
People come to counselling for many different reasons, and whatever brings you to counselling is important and individual to you. You may be struggling with anxiety or depression, feeling overwhelmed, experiencing difficulties in a relationship, coping with low self-esteem or difficult thoughts and emotions or simply feeling that something is not quite right in your life.
I support clients with a wide range of difficulties. These may include anxiety, depression, and low mood, suicidal thoughts and ideation, intrusive thoughts, stress, low self-esteem and confidence, shame and guilt, anger, bereavement and loss, relationship and family difficulties, as well as other challenging or significant life experiences.
I also have particular experience in trauma-informed counselling, including supporting survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault and abuse. I understand that difficult or traumatic experiences can affect people in many different ways, and I work sensitively and at a pace that feels right for each individual.
I work with clients of all genders and recognise that everyone can experience times when it may feel difficult to talk openly about their feelings or ask for help. I also recognise that reaching out for support can sometimes feel particularly difficult for men and boys.
I also have experience working therapeutically with children and young people, including within school settings. I adapt my approach according to the age and individual needs of the young person, giving them a safe space to explore and understand their feelings and experiences.
My approach is warm, supportive and collaborative. I believe that building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of counselling, and my aim is for you to feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
