About me

Hi, I'm Kate.

I am an Integrative Therapist, which means that I draw from different areas of psychotherapy, this allows me to tailor my approach to the individual needs of each client. I believe this is important as every person is different and what works for one may not work for another!

Things you might need help with:

- anxiety

- depression

- managing ADHD

- intrusive thoughts

- navigating life changes

- grief and loss

- relationships (I also offer couples therapy)

How I work:

If you are struggling with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or generally feeling low, we can work together to figure out ways to help you feel calmer and more in control. This might involve strategies for managing day-to-day life and the emotions that come with that, exploring how you are in relationships, or working through complicated feelings such as loss, insecurity, or anger.

Working with a therapist provides an opportunity to look at yourself on a deeper level. As your therapist I am there to act as a witness, actively listening and providing a space for you to explore the way that you as an individual experience the world. Therapy is about YOU, and so I offer a place where you get to say what you really feel without fear of repercussions or judgement.

I have a special interest in working with grief and loss. This is something that comes up in many aspects of life and which can benefit from the presence of a calm, steady listener who offers a safe space where things can get messy.

Couples Work:

As well as working with individuals, I also work with couples, helping them navigate challenges that they might be experiencing in their relationship and working with them to develop more effective communication.

TLDR:

I love this work and am genuinely interested in your life and what you have to say. Whether you're facing difficulties with relationships, mental health, or life transitions, I am here to provide the space for you to explore and grow. I believe that everyone deserves to feel confident and happy through life. Sometimes we all need a little bit of help to achieve this, and I can work with you to find a way forward when you may be struggling on your own.

I offer weekly 50 minute sessions. This can be face-to-face or online. We can arrange a fixed number of sessions or work on an ongoing basis.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
