About me
My name is Kate Rochford and I am an experienced, qualified psychotherapist working in Aberdeen, offering psychotherapy for adults, couples counselling, intimate partners therapy and relationships therapy. I offer a professional, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours.
Together, we will work to navigate and manage your difficulties, with the ultimate aim of enhancing your sense of well being and in turn, enabling you to lead a fuller and more satisfying life.
I offer a welcome space for Gender, Sexuality, Relationship, Diversity exploration, to help deepen understanding, validation and self awareness within the therapeutic relationship.
Relationship Therapy, Couples Therapy, Contemporary Intimate Partner Therapy: We will work together to explore more about what you are looking for in therapy and in your relationships. I will help identify ways to better communication, facilitate dialogues and provide more clarity.
The supportive and respectful space I offer can help co-create agreements and manage conflict. Exploring what is important in the relationship for each partner can help make decisions and choices alongside positive change.
I provide both long- term psychotherapy and short term counselling, using a humanistic, integrative approach. I enjoy working with clients to help develop insights, effective communication and make connections which enhance positive change.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
