About me
Hi, I’m Kate 🙂
I offer a warm, supportive and genuine place where you can talk openly, feel heard, and explore whatever’s going on, without pressure, judgement, or feeling the need to perform.
I'm a Person-Centred Counsellor, which means I work from the belief that you’re the expert in your own life and that I trust in your capacity to heal and grow on your own terms once you feel like you've found the right type of counselling space for you. I won't analyse you or try to be an expert on you. It’s more about creating the kind of relationship where you feel safe enough to be your true self, and I’ll be alongside you as you gradually untangle things.
There’s no set agenda. We go at your pace and you're in the driving seat. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or trying to understand yourself better, we can work through it together.
You’re welcome to bring anything into the room, including how your culture, identity, or life experiences shape the way you feel. I pay close attention to the systems we live within, and how oppression, trauma, and privilege can impact mental health and self-worth.
You might find this space helpful if:
- You’ve been masking or holding it together for a long time
- You’re navigating the complexities of ADHD, neurodivergence, or burnout
- You want to make sense of things in a space that feels kind and authentic
My practice is grounded in anti-oppressive values. I’ve spent several years counselling within a Black-led community service, and I continue to reflect on the role of power, race, and social context in therapy.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent two decades in corporate marketing, so I understand what it means to operate under pressure while seeming “fine” on the surface.
Practicalities
- I work with adults, online, across the UK
- Sessions are in English
- I'm a member of the BACP and work within their Ethical Framework
- I'm committed to ongoing learning, supervision, and reflective practice
If you’re thinking about starting counselling, or coming back to it, I’d be glad to hear from you 💚
Your first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation on Zoom before we begin
This isn’t a full counselling session, just a relaxed, no-pressure chance to meet and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
You’re welcome to:
• Say hello and get a feel for how I work
• Share a little about what’s brought you here (if you’d like to)
• Ask any questions you have about the process and what to expect
There’s no expectation to go into detail or make any decisions on the spot. Some people use the time to talk things through, others just want to check how it feels. Either way, it’s your space.
If that sounds helpful, feel free to get in touch and we’ll find a time that works 💚
Training, qualifications & experience
I’m a qualified counsellor with a BA (Hons) degree in Person-Centred Counselling (Level 6) from The Metanoia Institute, a BACP-accredited training programme known for its depth and rigour.
I work online with adults across the UK, offering a calm, relational space where we can explore whatever’s going on for you.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent over 20 years in corporate marketing working for some of the UK’s biggest brands. That lived experience gave me a deep understanding of how stress, pressure, and fast-paced environments can affect our mental health
Before training as a counsellor, I spent over 20 years in corporate marketing, so I have an understanding of the emotional toll that work pressure, burnout, and “holding it all together” can take on your mental health.
As well as counselling, I also deliver Mental Health First Aid training across schools, workplaces, and communities. I'm an accredited MHFA® instructor with MHFA England, and I care deeply about making mental health support more accessible, compassionate, and stigma-free.
Whether I'm working 1-to-1 or in groups, my approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity and psychological safety. I’ll meet you where you are, with warmth and acceptance 💚
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
