About me

You have already taken the very first step to reach out and help yourself - that is brave. Is it because nothing is making sense anymore and you have lost touch with yourself? Loneliness and isolation is leaking into every area of your life and having a huge impact on your relationships? Feelings of anxiety now have its strongholds and nothing feels certain anymore, only this deep sinking feeling of dread!

There may be traumatic events that have happened in the past which could be triggering such feelings of vulnerability and overwhelm. I know it can feel daunting to reach out for help but by working together I can provide that space in a safe, and confidential environment to explore these issues.

There can be many reasons for accessing counselling and I am mindful that everyone has their story. I am also aware that there can be stigma attached in seeking emotional support.

My ethnic origin is Indian and I am able to offer culturally sensitive therapy. I have experience of working cross-culturally from different race, ethnicity and religious backgrounds.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

How can I help?

I have experience of working with adults and young persons (18+) with a range of issues such as depression, grief and loss, anxiety, self-harm and eating disorders, low self-esteem/confidence, imposter syndrome, suicidal ideation and identity issues.

I am a full member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their Ethical Framework. I take part in regular Continuing Professional Development training to aid good working practices.

How I work

I work Psychodynamically which means helping you to understand your emotions. I am passionate in exploring the most important relationship which is with ourselves. We will explore early development since childhood. How this has been carried through to all your past/present relationships. As a result, identifying the common pitfalls that has led to an imbalanced emotional state of being. Rebuilding that self-awareness by exploring many coping strategies for authentic transformation to take place.

By working together, it will allow us to explore how we relate with each other. This can provide clarity of how you relate in your other relationships.

If you feel I could provide that support to you, please get in touch for an initial free telephone consultation. It will provide us both with an opportunity to discuss further your needs and ascertain any further queries or concerns you may have.
