About me

Hello, I'm Karl. I imagine you are reading this because you may be going through a tough time at the moment. Please remember, you're not alone.

Therapy was a real turning point for me, and I hope I can offer you the same kind of supporting environment. I believe in creating a safe and understanding space where you can talk openly about how you're feeling, without judgment.

Choosing a therapist can feel a bit daunting, but the most important thing is finding someone you connect with. I offer a warm and compassionate approach, tailored to your specific needs. Together, we can work through whatever challenges you're facing.

My aim

My role as your counsellor is to walk alongside you on your journey towards greater self-awareness and well-being. Together, we can explore who you truly are, build your confidence, and discover ways to make choices that feel right for you. I believe in your ability to shape your own life and want to support you reconnecting with yourself.

A big part of my work involves helping people who are dealing with loss and grief. I also offer support for those struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or confidence issues.

Loss can come in many forms, like the loss of a loved one, a change in circumstances, or feeling disconnected from yourself. Whether you're grappling with a specific loss or simply feeling off-balance, counselling can provide a safe space to process your experiences and find your way forward.

What I offer

I’m here to offer a safe and understanding space where you can share your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. No matter what you’re going through, I’m ready to listen without judgment and offer support. I believe in understanding your experiences from your own point of view. Your choices and decisions matter to me, so please feel free to share them.

Appointments

I know how hectic life can get, so I offer flexible appointments to fit around your schedule. Whether you're free during the day or evening, I'm here to support you. Taking time for therapy can be tough, but it's important to look after yourself. Please don't hesitate to get in touch to book a session that works for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Feedback from previous clients

"Karl was amazing as a support network over the time we worked together. I couldn't have asked for a more understanding, empathetic and kind person to work through grief with. He understood my disabilities and issues and was so accommodating to make sure I got the best out of the sessions. He was great at getting me to engage and open up which I've struggled with in the past and also to recognise the need to look after myself and to put myself first sometimes. I don't think I would have progressed as much as I have without these sessions and I'm so very thankful Karl was who he was and was an amazing support."

"Karl was very supportive, kind & caring. He helped me come to terms with the loss of my lovely father. He encouraged me & helped me cope better with my grief & I am very grateful to him."

"I felt totally empowered by my time with Karl, learning to laugh when I used to cry."
