About me
Many people seek psychological therapy at some point in their life. This might be to target a specific problem, to work through something in their past, or to help them to move their life more in line with their values. During our initial assessment, we will have an opportunity to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and therapy goals in the context of your life experiences, your background and your current circumstances. This will allow us to create a treatment plan together that is specifically tailored to your individual needs and aims to help you make meaningful changes. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to explore your experiences, thoughts and emotions, make sense of them and find the way forward.
In my practice, I draw on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also draw on principles of the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), as well as narrative and systemic approaches.
Please note, I usually respond to enquiries within a day. If you have not heard back from me, please check your 'Junk' folder.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered clinical psychologist based in South London. I have obtained my Clinical Psychology doctorate at the University of East London. I have extensive experience working in secondary care and specialist NHS services as well as third sector charity organisations. I currently work as a senior psychologist and a lead for Complex Trauma in an NHS specialist psychotherapy service.
I offer treatment for a wide range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety and relational difficulties. I am particularly passionate about working with trauma survivors and specialise in working with PTSD, Complex PTSD and complex trauma conditions. In my current and prior roles, I have worked with diverse client groups, including survivors of torture and human rights violations, rape, sexual assault and domestic violence, childhood abuse, war-related experiences, as well as accidents and injuries.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
