About me

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am an experienced and qualified (BA Hons), Individual and Couple Counsellor in Chichester, Portsmouth and Westbourne.

I am also the Co-founder and Partner of Portsmouth Therapy Partnership http://portsmouth-therapy.co.uk/

I have much experience of working with clients with many different issues including anxiety, anger, stress, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self esteem and addictions.

As a Counsellor and also as a person on my own personal journey I am continually made aware that we all experience challenges and difficulties in our lives and it is by working through these that we continue to develop and grow.

Many people choose to see me to find a way through their distressing work or personal issues in a professional, safe and confidential environment so that they can begin to make new choices, let go of the past – when it is no longer helpful, learn new skills and move forward with their lives.

I work within the Humanistic model of counselling which centres on valuing and appreciating you as a person and focusing on your personal development. It is important that you feel comfortable working with me as our therapeutic relationship will be the foundation for your therapy being effective.

I have had extensive and ongoing training and supervision in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

ACT offers a very effective, evidence based and practical approach to help you move your life in the direction towards your values and all that is important to you. ACT can help you to unhook from unhelpful thinking patterns by developing  mindfulness skills and making room for uncomfortable feelings to come and go, so that you can take action to lead a rich, full and meaningful life.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
