About me
I work with adults (18+) Individuals & Couples. I see clients in-person (F2F) at my Portsmouth practice & Online via Zoom.
The Therapies I offer are Humanistic in their approach and include Internal Family Systems (IFS) to which I am fully trained to IFS Level 3. I have also trained extensively in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy. I find that these modalities integrate well.
I provide a warm, professional and confidential space where you can talk openly about the issues which are bringing you into counselling.
I qualified as a BA (hons) Humanistic counsellor in 2006. I have much experience working with issues including anxiety, anger, stress, trauma, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and addictions.
As a Counsellor & as a human being on my own personal journey I am aware that we all experience challenges and difficulties in our lives.
Many people choose to see me to find a way through their distressing work or personal issues in a professional, safe and confidential environment so that they can begin to make new choices, heal and let go of the past – when it is no longer helpful, learn new skills and move forward with their lives.
I work within the Humanistic model of counselling which centres on valuing and appreciating you as a person and focusing on your personal development. It is important that you feel comfortable working with me as our therapeutic relationship will be the foundation for your therapy being effective.
I have a particular interest, training and supervision in IFS (Internal Family Systems) to Level 3
IFS therapy proposes that the mind is composed of various “parts”, forming an inner “family” that can conflict with one another and a core, compassionate “Self”.
IFS aims to foster harmony by helping individuals understand and integrate these parts—by accessing their core Self, from a place of curiosity and compassion.
I also have a breadth of training in ACT – Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. ACT helps you to get in contact with the Present Moment by being psychologically present and gives you skills to step back from unhelpful thoughts, dropping the struggle with them, or being overwhelmed by them.
ACT means taking ACTion guided by values – by doing what matters to live a richer & more meaningful life.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
