About me

Hi, thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I am a qualified counsellor and work at Its Okay Counselling. I am also a member of the BACP therefore, following their polices and work ethically in a confidential safe environment.

At times life can be hectic and uncertain which may have been made worse by the pandemic for you, we often put of taking care of our own needs due to putting others first. If this sounds like you then we can work on your boundaries if they have become blurred, helping you to set new ones as people often take one more than they can cope with which can lead to other mental health issues.   If you are struggling with low self-esteem, feeling lost, numb, low mood, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression or had a traumatic experience then counselling can help, giving you the tools to work through and manage your thoughts, feeling and emotions in a more positive manner.  Working in an integrated way shaping the therapy sessions to best meet your uniqueness, specific goals whilst putting you at ease, giving you a better understanding of your feelings and the tools for a more positive and fulfilled future.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

There will be an initial phone conversation where you will be free to ask any questions, discuss your issues and to gather information, leading to booking your first session.

The first session will go more Indepth, taking things at your pace and working with what issues you want to work on. The sessions are client lead whist working on a treatment plan that best suits your needs in an integrative way, giving you the tools to better channel your thoughts, feelings and emotions more effectively. Moving forward you will be able to see an improvement with how you cope in situations you previously struggled with.

I am currently based in sovereign House on the Queensway industrial Estate; this offers a discreet location.
