About me
No one told us that mid-life was going to be this tough!
Having to deal with painful life events such as divorce, job worries, bereavement, illness and children leaving /returning home is difficult for everyone, but facing these challenges at a time when we are also likely to be navigating big changes to our personal roles in life, or feeling like we don’t recognise ourselves in the mirror any more, can be confusing and often extremely distressing. It’s as though we seem to be losing touch with our very selves.
Are you:
- Tired, burned out or irritable
- Anxious, depressed, exhausted
- Not feeling the joy or satisfaction in life you once did
- Just not feeling like yourself
- Lacking your usual drive
- Fighting to keep up with the world
- Struggling to adapt to a new role or responsibility you didn’t expect
- Wondering what happened to the old you
- Worried about the future
Having been through my fair share of these issues myself, my aim is to help when life becomes challenging. Through counselling I can help you to work through the struggles and confusion brought on by unwelcome changes in your life, and deal with your grief over the parts of yourself that you feel you have lost.
When we are feeling weighed down by frustration, anger, anxiety, or depression it can be hard to see a way forward, so as well as working through the bad stuff, I think it is important to take time, when you’re ready, to also explore the opportunities that mid-life can bring. Together we can work to discover what’s really important to you in life, helping you to create a fulfilling future and giving you the confidence to live it well.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
