About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

Are you struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, low mood and self-esteem, which is impacting on you enjoying your life? You may be struggling with a mental health issue or dealing with a stressful situation at work or in your personal life. I understand that it can be overwhelming to decide to have counselling and to choose a therapist that you feel is suitable for you. It maybe your first time exploring therapy and your feeling uncomfortable and anxious about it. By reaching out you have already made the first step to start understanding how you feel and working towards feeling better.

How can counselling help you?

Counselling can help you understand yourself better and find better coping strategies to deal with the challenges you are facing.

I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy working within an Integrative framework whereby I also draw on other therapeutic approaches. This allows me to offer a tailored approach to counselling based on your individual needs. I will create a safe space with you and offer support tailored to your individual needs. I will help you identify whatever challenges you are facing, and we will work together to identify and explore your thoughts, emotions and patterns of behaviour that are not serving you well and getting in the way of you living a meaningful and enjoyable life.

I’ll combine empathy with practical tools to help you find solutions and relief from whatever is holding you back and build confidence in who you are. I’m here to provide a safe and confidential space where you can be yourself and feel supported. I will be with you step by step to help you on this journey of change and feeling better.

I'm here to have a conversation with you when you’re ready to talk I’ll be here to listen. Please get in touch to book an appointment, call me on 07871 659314.

My previous experience

I have completed many clinical hours at various organisational settings. including charities and schools working with adults, children and young people. I previously worked for 2 years at a domestic abuse charity working with family survivors of domestic abuse. I currently work for an organisation providing counselling to children and young people in primary and secondary schools alongside my private practice. My work with children and young people involves the use of creative play, arts and crafts expressing their emotions through play when words may not support this.

Prior to my counselling training I founded a mental health charity called “Mental Health Together in October 2017 organising events and activities in the community, bringing people together supporting mental health and mental wellbeing. Therefore, I am passionate about mental health and supporting others to feel happier and positive about their future.

My Practice

My practice is called Flourish and Thrive Counselling because I believe growth is within you working towards thriving and continual growth and lasting change which I believe is essential for effective therapy.

I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space in my counselling room which is located in Leamington Spa. I also offer sessions outdoors. If you require walk and talk therapy my practice is in close vicinity to a range of lovely parks in the Leamington and Warwick area.

Initial First Contact

I offer an initial 20-minute telephone consultation free of charge, which gives you an opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you have about counselling. The consultation will include your intentions for counselling and whether I am best suited to help you. It will also include counselling availability; fees and how many sessions are likely to be required.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
