About me
I work with adults, teenagers and young children using an integration of models and modalities and tailor these to meet the individual needs of a client or young person.
My particular expertise is working with anxiety, relationships and teenagers struggling with school.
My work with adults has been diverse and I am able to offer a flexible approach, ensuring that each individual feels comfortable to explore areas that are important to them. I have worked extensively with relationships, loss and trauma.
I am able to offer face to face, telephone or online sessions.
I have worked within school settings and also privately with teenagers so have an active knowledge of the demands teenagers can feel .Working with teenagers requires a secure understanding of the developing teenage brain and the challenges they may be experiencing as they are on their journey towards becoming a young adult. I have particular skills supporting anxiety and self worth which can lead to school refusal.
With young children the process is child led and I use therapeutic play to support a child to process their emotions and gain strategies to regulate their feelings. Young children settle well in sessions and gain the confidence to express themselves in an individual multi sensory way.

- Hons Degree in Psychology
- Postgraduate Certificate of Education ( 30 years teaching experience).
- Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership of Integrated Services
- National Professional Qualification for Headship (18 of 30 years as a Primary Head Teacher)
- Leadership Programme for Serving Heads
- Leading from the Middle- coaching succession leadership
Various qualifications relating to child development, attachment and the impact this can have throughout life when managing relationships.
I currently work as a counsellor in a Secondary School and also for Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust, part of Kirklees CAMHS Service as both a counsellor and a manager.
I work with a range of private clients in the Therapy Huddersfield Venue and am also able to offer hypnotherapy for clients including smoking cessation, phobias and anxiety issues.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Hypnotherapy £60/hr including a consultation
Phobia work would require a consultation and a minimum of 4 sessions- £240
Smoking cessation would require a consultation and one session £150
Hypnoband would require a consultation and a minimum of 2 sessions £150
