About me

In the current climate I am offering both new and current clients video link sessions.

I offer Psychotherapy and Counselling, incorporating mindfulness, meditation and well being sessions. Either face to face or via video link.

When you are experiencing thoughts and feelings that you are not able to process alone, counselling can be a way of making sense of them and helping you to move forward with your life.

See my reviews on Google maps and on my website. www.counsellingkbrown.co.uk

I have a genuine and warm character and real desire to help you. Whatever your issue, a long term problem, an immediate crisis or if you are just feeling stuck. I am able to offer you a calm space where you have the opportunity to explore what has prompted you to seek counselling.

I hold clinics in Crawley and Surbiton, both locations are close to transport links and my Crawley practice has free on street parking. The Surbiton practice is close to on street meter parking,

Some of the areas of counselling clients come to see me about include: Trauma, Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Disassociation,  Panic Disorder, Relationship Issues,  Affairs and betrayals, Addictions. Anger management, Low self Esteem, Self Harm, Bereavement, Eating Disorders, (please see full list below)

I aim to help clients gain a healthy work/life balance and offer exam stress relief techniques to students. At the end of our sessions you will have a 'tool box' to take with you as you continue your journey through life.

I am experienced in working with both one to one and couples counselling. I will work with you in an Integrative/Holistic way.  Drawing from different models of therapy allows me to tailor each session to your particular needs. Sessions can be long term/short term/time bonded.

Please advise at the time of making an appointment of any medications that you are currently taking.

I have worked with young people in an educational setting for over 10 years and have volunteered with a charity that offered counselling to young people age between 14 - 25. I also have experience of working with young people who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. I have also volunteered with a cancer charity supporting both those with a diagnosis of cancer and their families.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
