About me
Being a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist, I also am specialising in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and psychological Trauma via my CBT qualification and Certificate in Traumatology.
I am a Bupa Recognized Counsellor.
Online video conferencing, Telephone and In-person counselling is offered.
There are times in our life when we need emotional support and help from others as life is demanding due to a crisis thrown at us, or life changes through divorce, bereavement, redundancy and much more.
When we ask for support and it is judgmental, offering little or no empathy, we can feel even more lost and unheard. We can become out of touch with ourselves and feel unable to truly explore our feelings so that we can make positive changes in our lives.
Drawing upon my professional and life experience, I aim to empower you to help resolve your issues by helping you explore your concerns in a safe and confidential counselling relationship to provide support that is suitable to your particular life circumstance.
Please call me for an initial free chat for 10-20 minutes about how counselling can work for you and we can negotiate fees as necessary.

Specialist Areas:
I specialise in Trauma - CPTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and integrate some CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) with other approaches relevant to your specific needs. Complex PTSD can leave the sufferer with a negative self-concept, and negative concept of the world, emotion regulation difficulties, and difficulties in relationships where the CPTSD symptoms mean that trust, safety, power and control and self-esteem are themes that disturb relationships whether personal or at work.
I specialise in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy).
Using CBT I can help you address a range of issues to make positive changes for example:
Depression; Anxiety; Generalised Anxiety Disorder (where anxiety has continued for 6 months and over), PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Panic, Stress, Anxiety, Depression; OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Behaviours), Phobias, Agoraphobia, Health Anxiety, social media, Addiction: substance-misuse, social media, smoking/alcohol).
CBT works with negative thought processes to make them positive, lowers and/or manages anxiety and depression, helps be in touch with thoughts and feelings and undesired behavioural patterns to help make positive, desired life changes.
As my approach is integrative, according to your individual needs, I also use CBT with other therapies; Person Centred, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Transactional analysis. I also use creative exercises such as role plays, writing down experiences thoughts and feelings, along with mindfulness exercises, relaxation techniques, meditation and visualization.
For beneficial therapy outcome the number of CBT sessions taken will depend upon individual needs. However an initial 6 sessions are recommended for positive changes to take place. This involves CBT tasks which I will introduce to give you tools to, for example manage anxiety symptoms, work with negative thought processes, be in touch with feelings and behavioural patterns to help make positive life changes.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
