About me

I'm Kate, I'm a fully qualified, person-centred counsellor based at the Serenity Sanctuary in Gosport. I’m an honest, warm and naturally caring person, who deeply values the positive impact that therapy can have on a person’s life.

I’ll provide a safe haven where you have my complete attention. I will listen without judgement and strive to understand your experience as fully as I can. The more you explore what’s troubling you, the more you can come to terms with the past, accept where you are, who you are, and move forwards with life.

I work in my private practice in Gosport, where I work with adults, across a wide range of personal issues and challenges. My practice is based at the Serenity Sanctuary which is a complementary and holistic therapy centre offering a wide range of therapies. The centre is therefore a warm, relaxing and peaceful space, ideal for counselling.

I'm passionate about the benefits counselling can offer, and I know that time pressures and logistics can often be barriers for people to access this wonderful, life-enhancing resource. I therefore see clients at a wide range of times, including early mornings, day times, evenings, and even weekends. To further remove barriers and increase access, I also offer counselling via the telephone, as well as offering a choice between the standard 50 minute appointments, and the extended 80 minute sessions.

Getting Started:

To get started, the first thing to do is to contact me to arrange an initial session, where we can discuss what you want to get out of counselling, and you can ask any questions you may have.

My goal is to offer choice and flexibility, so contact me in whichever way suits you - by phone, text message or email.

Once we've had our initial session, if you're happy to continue, then we'll arrange the second appointment, and plan to see each other regularly, usually weekly.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
