Juliet Thornton MA MBACP
Hello, welcome to my profile.
Many people go through tough and difficult times and overcoming them may feel too hard to cope with alone. Sometimes, events or accidents happen unexpectedly and are traumatic, or the outcome of decisions we make are disappointing or relationships with others are difficult or fail. Our life can become filled with anxiety, depression and as we spiral down, we can feel overwhelmed and lose sight of who we are and we can feel lost and without hope.
I am an experienced, qualified psychotherapist and counsellor who works with clients of all ages. They come with many different struggles and are weighed down with problems that feel overwhelming and make daily life very hard. I see individual adult clients and couples.
I believe that counselling can make a difference and working with the right therapist can offer the opportunity for hope that life can be better. It is possible to change habits, gain more control in your life, build self-esteem and for healing to take place and life to change for the better. As a result, it is possible for you to make new choices and change old ways of being that have caused difficulties that may have lead to anxiety, depression and other problems.
At the heart of my work is the relationship that I build with each client. It is important that you feel safe and that you can trust me. I am understanding, empathic and will listen and not judge.
We can work for a few sessions or over a longer period of time. The length of therapy will depend on your needs, wishes and the that issues you bring. I will always try to work in ways and at a pace that are appropriate to you and your story.
