About me
Thank you for visiting my page.I am an experienced and qualified counsellor running a small private practice from home. I have a beautiful purpose built summerhouse where I can offer you one to one counselling in a peaceful and tranquil environment. I believe that for the counselling process to really work we need to address ourselves as a whole, mind, body and spirit. As a counsellor I aim to provide you with a healing experience where you can feel safe, held, and really heard and understood. I believe that when we are confused hurt or misunderstood, we don't need advice but just someone to listen and guide us through our choices so that we can make our own decisions.
I offer an initial assessment for us both to have the opportunity to meet and discuss your difficulties and for you to gain a sense if I am the right person for you. Sessions can be short or long term, where you can talk freely at your own pace in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential setting.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have worked in many different caring environments. At present I am working above a G.P’s surgery where I am counselling people with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bereavement and addiction. I have gained invaluable experience in helping people explore underlying problems such as low self-esteem and relationship issues.
As part of my social care training, I have worked with the elderly, in a primary school, and with the homeless. I have also worked in a women’s refuge with women suffering from the affects of domestic violence.
I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical guidelines.
