About me

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve been carrying difficult experiences on your own for a long time. I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can begin to talk at your own pace, without pressure or judgement.

I specialise in supporting survivors of rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, and domestic violence. I understand how these experiences may leave lasting feelings of guilt, shame, fear, or confusion. It can be hard to feel that you are worthy when you have spent so long being made to feel that you are worthless. Many people I work with have spent years holding these feelings inside. You don’t have to carry them alone anymore-and you don’t have to carry them forever.

Together, we can gently explore what you’ve been through and begin to make sense of how it has affected you. A big part of our work may involve helping you offload the guilt and shame you’ve been carrying for far too long, and finding a way to reconnect with your sense of self, safety, and worth.

How I Work

I’m known for being friendly, down to earth, and approachable. Therapy with me is not about sitting in silence or feeling analysed-it’s about building a genuine, trusting connection where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself.

While I take your experiences seriously, I also believe that gentle humour can have an important place in therapy. When appropriate, it can help ease tension, create warmth, and remind us that even alongside pain, there is still room for lightness and humanity.

I work at your pace, always guided by what feels right for you. Whether you want to talk openly, take things slowly, or are unsure where to begin, that’s completely okay.

What You Can Expect

  • A safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space
  • Support with processing trauma in a way that feels manageable
  • Understanding and compassion for the impact of abuse and violence
  • Help in releasing feelings of guilt and shame
  • A steady, supportive relationship where you feel heard and respected

You have already carried so much. Therapy can be a place where you begin to put some of that down.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
