Julia Normington BA, PG Dip. Clinical Psychotherapeutic Counselling, MBACP
Most people at some time in their lives experience painful and challenging emotions that can be difficult to make sense of. It can help to find professional support to work through the problems and issues you are facing.
As a therapeutic counsellor I work non-judgementally with you to explore your concerns. Everyone is unique and I offer an empathic and confidential space to listen to you and develop meaning and understanding around issues. Areas I am experienced in working with include relationship difficulties, separation, divorce, bereavement, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, sadness, isolation and loneliness, issues around culture, work stress, life transitions, low self-esteem, unresolved childhood issues, disordered eating, bullying, addictions and compulsions.
Therapy is different to talking to family and friends and this process may help you speak more honestly and safely about your thoughts, feelings or ways of managing that might concern you.
People I work with often want to live more as themselves and feel more creative and joyful. During Covid-19 and this time of great uncertainty you may find that speaking and being listened to is supportive and helps you understand what might be going on for you. This can help with self esteem and developing clarity and focus.
You may have a specific issue you want to resolve or you may wish to reflect on your life and relationships over a longer period of time.
I work in private practice from central Esher. There is free parking and my practice is close to the A3, Claygate, Hinchley Wood, Kingston Upon Thames, Surbiton, Hersham, Hampton Court, Weybridge, Cobham, Oxshott, Walton on Thames and Byfleet.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
