About me
About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first steps to find the right therapist can be difficult. I hope reading my profile makes you feel at ease and that I can work with you on your therapeutic journey.
I am a psychotherapist with a specialist interest and knowledge in working with adults, adolescents, and children affected by early childhood developmental and attachment trauma, bereavement, loss, and grief. Other areas of experience include anger management, anxiety, adverse childhood experiences, cultural issues, depression, identity, personal development, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, self-harm, stress, and suicidal ideation.
Do you identify with any of the following statements?
- I struggle to share my emotions
- I am finding it hard to answer the question 'Who am I?'
- Due to my complex family history, I am conflicted about my identity
- I feel pressure to be or act a certain way
- I change my opinions or preferences regularly to fit in socially
As a pluralistic therapist, I value difference and approach my client work with an open mind, ensuring you can discuss your preferences and work towards achieving your therapeutic aims and goals. I use varied client-led interventions which may include Person-Centred, Solution-Focused, Brief, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
I can also use creative therapies such as poetry, art, or sand tray therapy. I find that working with a variety of mediums allows my clients to express their emotions when they find voicing their feelings difficult.
My firsthand personal experience with the care system, from being in care myself to later becoming a foster carer and a qualified social worker, has enabled me to truly empathise with those who have had similar experiences. These experiences have also helped me understand the importance of being genuinely heard and accepted for who you are, and having a safe space in which to share concerns and worries.
Practice description
Although considered a bright, colourful character, I offer a pluralistic approach to therapy in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Together, we can work to find the best way to support you throughout your therapeutic journey. My counselling room, the Rainbow Counselling Cabin, is located in my garden and has a separate entrance, providing a tranquil and private space.
I offer a confidential service and can work with you face-to-face or virtually. I provide short-term, long-term, or single-session counselling and psychotherapy, depending on your needs.
Through therapy, you will have the opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in a safe and nonjudgmental space. Together, we will work towards developing coping strategies, improving communication skills, and building on your strengths to help you overcome obstacles and achieve your goals.
Therapy can provide you with the tools and insight needed to make positive changes in your life, enhance your well-being, and cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness and fulfilment. By actively engaging in the therapeutic process, you can empower yourself to take control of your mental and emotional health, and ultimately improve your overall quality of life.
I firmly believe that therapy is a valuable and transformative experience that can support you in your personal growth and help you navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and clarity. I am committed to providing you with a safe and supportive environment to explore, heal, and grow, and I look forward to embarking on this journey with you.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly attend relevant training and supervision.
I possess an up-to-date enhanced DBS.
First Session
I am pleased to offer a complimentary 20-minute initial telephone session. During this time, we can explore how therapy may assist you and determine if our collaboration would be beneficial.
During our first session, we will take some time to go over the therapy agreement together. This agreement outlines what you can expect from therapy and what I, as your therapist, will be providing in terms of support and guidance.
We will also talk about how therapy can help you on your journey to improve your quality of life. Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to identify and address any challenges or issues that may be holding you back.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
