About me

Hi there,

Have you tried therapy before but it's never quite worked? Felt like it has actually made the problem bigger?

I can provide you with more than just an empathetic ear. I can help you develop new ways of being by radically changing your perceptions and behaviours.

My goal is for you to become your own therapist, I provide a guarantee to not keep you in therapy longer than you need to be. We will set goals and once we’ve met them, it’s over to you!

My knowledge of CBT and its application is advanced - I teach CBT at the University of Salford, where I work as a lecturer.

I have had the pleasure of working with both neurodiverse and neurotypical clients, and I'm skilled in adapting CBT to meet the needs of each individual.

I treat long-term depression, low self-esteem, anxiety disorders (such as OCD, GAD, PTSD, Phobias and Health Anxiety). I specialise in Body Dysmorphic Disorder.

Testimonials:

'I can’t thank Josie enough for the incredible support and guidance she has given me through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). When I first started working with her, I was struggling with anxiety and symptoms of PTSD from a past trauma. Josie’s kindness and genuine care created a safe space for me to open up, and her expertise helped me challenge the beliefs that were holding me back.

Through our collaborative work, I was able to process the trauma and gain a deeper understanding of my thoughts and emotions. Josie empowered me with practical tools and strategies, which have not only helped me overcome the trauma but also given me the confidence to move forward in life. I now feel in control of my life and better equipped to handle challenges. I’m truly grateful for the transformative impact she has had on my journey.'

'I’ve spoken to many therapists over the years with my struggle through anxiety and depersonalisation/derealisation (DPDR) and Josie is by far the best I’ve spoken to. She is very calming and easy to talk to and using both behavioural and exposure experiments has lowered my overall anxiety and DPDR symptoms dramatically and I feel like I can enjoy life again. In my experience it is hard to find a therapist that will deal with DPDR and most just ignore it. Josie took the time to understand what DPDR was for me and never ignored it or made me feel like it was irrelevant as some therapists have in the past. I would highly recommend.'
