About me

Tired of turning to AI for emotional support?

If you’re feeling disconnected, disillusioned and/or tired of experiencing the same challenges in life over and over again, you may need something more than an agreeable AI script to make a meaningful change.

I’m fiercely passionate about helping my clients to unlock the patterns that have been keeping them stuck for months, years and sometimes decades.

I don’t promise a quick fix, although sometimes breakthroughs can happen at speed. What I do promise is an unwavering dedication to the process.

I’m Joey.

I entered the psychotherapy world over a decade ago when I did a foundation training course that changed my life (as cliché as it sounds, it’s true). Why? It gave me an opportunity to step back and start to look at some of the patterns that had been holding me captive for my entire life - mostly linked to coping strategies I’d developed in my infancy.

I subsequently did my full psychotherapy training whilst working in my full-time corporate job in marketing and communications. This helped me have far more compassion for my colleagues as I could see how we all brought our relational patterns into the workplace. But I soon became overworked, stressed and eventually burned out.

A core feature of my work is now geared towards supporting individuals who are experiencing work-related stress that has started to impact life at home.

Having spent the best part of 15 years in the corporate sector, I know how challenging these environments can be to navigate, and the toll they can take on us.

Working both on an ongoing and short-term basis, I like to bring a mixture of empathy and challenge to my therapy practice. I believe we all have a huge capacity to grow in the right environment and see it as my role to cultivate a space where both safety and risk-taking are possible.

I work predominantly online and in-person in the Maidenhead area.

Training, qualifications & experience

Most, if not all, psychotherapists type something similar here, reeling off all their many educational accolades. I myself have done the same in the past, so I'm not preaching.

I've always wonder if anyone really delved into what they meant.

Yes, I did a five year Diploma and Masters at a special place in West London called the Metanoia Institute. It was incredibly helpful in helping to build my foundations as a therapist.

But I continue to learn the most through actually sitting with clients, listening to their stories and attuning to what it is they're really trying to say. And... utilising my own life experiences to really tap in and connect.

I've worked in a therapeutic community with some of the most marginalised individuals in the country and, at the same, time I work with highly paid and high functioning people in the corporate sector.

I've learned a huge amount from both and can say there's more similarities between us all than I ever imagined at one point in life.

My aim is to simply meet you, the person, on your own merits.

Life is our biggest teacher.
