About me
Hello, I'm Jodie. I'm a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and I offer a warm, supportive and down-to-earth space for children, young people and adults to explore what might be troubling them.
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. Perhaps things have become difficult to manage, you're feeling overwhelmed, or you're struggling to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. Whatever has brought you here, I want you to feel listened to, understood, and accepted, without fear of judgement.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. I take time to get to know you as an individual, understand what's happening in your life, and explore what you would like to change. My approach is gentle, collaborative and tailored to your needs, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help people understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and how these can sometimes keep us feeling stuck. Together, we can explore what's happening and find practical ways to manage difficulties, build confidence and make positive changes.
I support people experiencing anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, body dysmorphia, depression, panic, OCD, phobias and trauma, as well as those navigating loss, bereavement and significant life changes. I also offer CBT support for women experiencing difficulties associated with perimenopause and menopause, including anxiety, low mood, changes in confidence and self-esteem, and the emotional impact of this transition. I understand that this stage of life can bring challenges that affect many aspects of everyday life, and I offer a space to explore these experiences without feeling dismissed or misunderstood.
Alongside working with adults, I offer CBT to children and young people aged 8 and above. I also support children, young people and families who are facing the challenges of serious illness, loss and bereavement. Where helpful, I work with parents and families too, recognising that difficulties rarely affect just one person.
My aim is for you to feel comfortable being yourself, to understand your difficulties a little better and to develop ways of coping that you can carry with you beyond our sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
My professional background includes working within NHS mental health services, alongside extensive experience leading a hospice bereavement service. Throughout my career, I have supported people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, as well as individuals and families navigating loss, bereavement, serious illness, and other significant life experiences.
I hold a Level 6 OCN Certificate in Working with Bereaved Children and Young People (Child Bereavement UK), alongside a BA (Hons) in Criminology from Nottingham Trent University.
My experience across mental health services and hospice care has shaped the way I work today. I recognise that everyone's circumstances are different and that there is no single way to experience anxiety, depression, trauma, grief or loss. I bring compassion, curiosity and a genuine commitment to understanding each person I work with.
I continue to value learning and developing my practice so that I can offer thoughtful, individualised support.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

Further information
I offer appointments face-to-face in Lichfield, online and, where appropriate, in schools. I work with individuals and families, and sessions are shaped around what feels most helpful for you.
I know that finding the right therapist is important. You need to feel comfortable with the person you choose to share your experiences with, and it's perfectly okay to take time to decide.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone conversation. This is an opportunity for us to talk about what's been happening, for you to ask any questions, and for us to consider whether working together feels right.
I also appreciate that accessing therapy can feel like a big step, including financially. I offer concessionary rates where appropriate and work with health insurance providers, so please feel free to get in touch to discuss this.
Above all, you don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can start wherever you are, take things at your pace, and work together towards a way forward.
