About me
Hello, I’m Jodie, a BACP registered counsellor based in Beverley, offering online and telephone counselling across the UK.
I offer a warm, down-to-earth space where you can speak openly, feel heard and explore whatever has brought you to counselling, without judgement. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have a clear goal before we begin.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you’ve never experienced it before or haven’t felt comfortable opening up in the past. We can take things at your pace, beginning with what matters to you.
My approach is grounded in person-centred counselling, which means your experiences, needs and goals guide our work together. I also have training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), so we can explore practical approaches when these feel helpful to you.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. Anxiety, stress, low mood, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, difficult childhood experiences, identity, women’s issues, menopause and life changes are just some of the things I can support you with. You may be facing something difficult, noticing patterns you want to understand or simply wanting time to reflect. You don’t need to fit into a particular category to get in touch. Whatever your reason, we can discuss what you’re looking for and whether I’m the right counsellor to support you.
My professional training, counselling work and own life experiences have shaped the warm, grounded and human way I work. I recognise that everyone’s story is different and want to understand what your experiences mean to you.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call so you can ask questions, get a feel for how I work and decide whether we might be a good fit. There is no pressure to book further sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience

My counselling experience includes supporting people with a range of emotional and personal difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress and trauma. I work collaboratively, taking time to understand each person’s experiences and what they would like from counselling.
As someone from a diverse background, I bring cultural awareness, sensitivity and curiosity to my work. I am committed to equality and respecting each person’s identity, background and lived experience.
I attend regular clinical supervision and undertake ongoing professional development to reflect on my practice and continue developing my skills.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
