About me
My Details:
Hello, My name is Jocelyn and I currently work for the NHS as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based intervention (widely researched and shown to be effective) and popularly used within the NHS. I have worked within the NHS for approximately 7 years. Firstly, within the field of addiction and then within the psychological wellbeing service delivering CBT to a variety of patients with varying complexities and need.
I can offer CBT to anyone from the age of 16 plus and there is no upper age limit.
I have experience working with patients with a range of difficulties including:
Anxiety or Generalised Anxiety Disorder, (GAD), Stress, Depression, Sleep difficulties, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), PTSD (traumatic incidents), Phobias (spiders, driving, confined spaces, fear of needles, death etc), Social Anxiety, Long term health conditions, for example: coronary heart disease (CHD), chronic pain, COPD, IBS, among many others.
The First Appointment:
Our first appointment would last approximately 50-60 minutes and is called an Initial Assessment.
At this appointment, we would identify any areas that you currently find difficult and want help with, and then discuss how we can work together using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address those difficulties.
We can agree a plan together and have regular reviews of the treatment to ensure we are on track and making good recovery progress.
Further Treatment Sessions:
The amount of sessions required will vary according to need and recovery.
We can discuss this at assessment and agree a plan.
Each session will last approximately 50 minutes.
I can offer face-to-face appointments (within Wing, Leighton Buzzard or surrounding areas)
Telephone or skype appointments anywhere in the country.
Ending Therapy:
We can discuss and agree this before we start treatment and have regular reviews to see how we are progressing with recovery.
